The vineyard Romirasco is about 50-55 years old and the vines are replanted from time to time. The main variety of Nebbiolo is Lampia and its rootstock is Rupestris du Lot. The new wine is decanted several times before transfer to oak casks where it is aged and refined.

Located in Monforte d'Alba, Poderi Aldo Conterno is considered one of the finest producers in the region. The son of legendary producer Giacomo Conterno, Aldo formed his own estate in 1969 and was inspired by the modernist techniques of Angelo Gaja. Aldo sadly passed away in May 2012 and the estate is now run by his three sons, Franco, Stefano and Giacomo. They tend 25 hectares of vines including three cru vineyards on the famed Bussia slope in Monforte d'Alba. These three vineyard sites, Cicala, Colonello and Romirasco are the flagship wines from the estate though the entire range from the entry level Bussia Soprana is superb.

Nebbiolo wines are renowned for their elegance, complexity, and longevity. They hail predominantly from the Piedmont region in northwest Italy, particularly in areas like Barolo and Barbaresco, where the grape thrives in the region's unique microclimate and soil conditions.
The wines pair exceptionally well with a variety of dishes, thanks to their acidity, tannins, and flavor profile. They are particularly well-suited to rich, hearty dishes such as braised meats, game, truffle-infused dishes, and aged cheeses. Their versatility also allows them to complement more delicate dishes like mushroom risotto or roasted poultry.
