Tua Rita Perlato del Bosco Rosso 2019
$87.79 Original price was: $87.79.$79.01Current price is: $79.01.
Perlato del Bosco is the result of a particularly encouraging vintage that delivered a regular maturation of our grapes in a timely manner. The winemaking process took place in a “tino troncoconico di rovere” (conical oak vats) for 6 months and then 10 months in barriques. The vintage defines the typical characteristics of Sangiovese from the coast: fresh and classical notes of “Macchia Mediterranea” that make this wine special for its territoriality.

Tua Rita is the Italian equivalent of the garagiste wines of Bordeaux, small at only 35 hectares of vines and consistently releasing some of Italy's finest red wines. Owned by Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio Bisti, the estate is located in Suvereto in Northern Maremma and then thanks to some stelar reviews in the wine press, Tua Rita has gone from a relatively unknown to a world-famous producer. Their flagship wine, a 100% Merlot, the Redigaffi IGT Toscana stands effortlessly on the world stage and other wines in their quiver such as the Guisto di Notri IGT Toscana, Syrah OGT Toscana and Rosso di Notri IGT Toscana share a similar pedigree.

Sangiovese wines, synonymous with Italy's Tuscan landscape, embody a spectrum of flavors ranging from vibrant red fruits like cherry and strawberry to herbal nuances and floral undertones. Their moderate to high acidity, coupled with medium tannins, imparts a refreshing zest and structure, creating wines that can vary from light and fruity to robust and intense. Terroir plays a pivotal role in shaping Sangiovese's character, with distinct regions like Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino offering their unique expressions, from the former's lively acidity and firm structure to the latter's deep intensity and power.
Sangiovese wines are celebrated for their versatility at the table, harmonizing with a plethora of dishes from traditional Italian fare to international cuisine. They pair exceptionally well with pasta dishes featuring tomato-based sauces, grilled meats, aged cheeses, and Tuscan specialties like ribollita and bistecca alla fiorentina. While some Sangiovese wines are best enjoyed in their youthful exuberance, others from esteemed appellations like Brunello di Montalcino exhibit remarkable aging potential, evolving over time to reveal greater complexity and depth, cementing Sangiovese's status as a timeless classic in the world of wine.
