The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for a about one hundred days, brings with it the great aromatic intensity of dark fruit and undergrowth, together with spicy and tobacco notes. The impact on the palate is powerful and vigorous, with the wine gradually tapering on the acidic and savoury momentum, extending gently with a clean, dry finish.

Oseleta Wine

Oseleta wines originate from the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, where they are celebrated for their unique character and contribution to traditional blends, particularly in the Valpolicella appellation. Oseleta is an indigenous grape variety of the region, known for its small berries and intense color. While it was nearly extinct in the mid-20th century, efforts to revive and cultivate Oseleta have led to its resurgence in recent years, particularly in the production of Amarone and other Valpolicella wines.
Oseleta wines typically exhibit deep color and rich concentration, with flavors of dark berries, plums, and spices. Due to its thick skins and high tannins, Oseleta adds structure and complexity to blends, enhancing the overall depth and aging potential of wines. In addition to its role in Valpolicella blends, Oseleta is increasingly being vinified as a single varietal wine, showcasing its unique characteristics and potential for crafting bold and distinctive wines. Whether enjoyed as part of a blend or on its own, Oseleta wines offer a taste of Veneto's winemaking heritage and the rich diversity of indigenous grape varieties in the region.
