$105.36 Original price was: $105.36.$94.82Current price is: $94.82.
The 2022 Dry River Pinot Gris is lavish and charming. Ripe aromatics of peach, red-petal, ginger spice and nougat carry into the concentrated palate with flavours of pistachio, mandarin and warm cream. The palate remains broad and generous, finishing with a slight lift of cooling alcohol and fine phenolic tension.

In the Wairarapa in 1979 Dry River quickly established a reputation as one of the finest producers in the country producing Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Viognier, Syrah and Pinot Noir. McCallum retired in 2011 and the winemaking duties have been taken over by Wilco Lam with Robet Willis and his team tending the vines. The vision of Neil McCallum is in good hands and Dry River continues to be one of New Zealand's most sought after wines.

Pinot Gris wines, originating from the Alsace region of France and also widely produced in countries like Italy, Germany, and the United States, are renowned for their lush and aromatic character. Made from the Pinot Gris grape, which is a mutation of the red Pinot Noir grape, these wines offer a diverse range of flavors and styles. Pinot Gris wines typically exhibit a medium to full-bodied profile, with flavors ranging from ripe pear, apple, and stone fruit to tropical notes like pineapple and melon. The grape's inherent richness often results in a slightly viscous texture on the palate, adding to the wine's overall mouthfeel and depth of flavor.
Pinot Gris wines are known for their versatility in both winemaking and food pairing. Depending on the region and winemaking style, Pinot Gris wines can range from dry to off-dry or even slightly sweet. In Alsace, for example, they tend to be more full-bodied and complex, while in Italy, they may be crisper and lighter. This versatility makes Pinot Gris wines suitable for a wide range of culinary pairings, from seafood and poultry to creamy pasta dishes and Asian cuisine. With their expressive aromatics, lush texture, and food-friendly nature, Pinot Gris wines offer a delightful drinking experience that appeals to a broad spectrum of wine enthusiasts.
