A nose dominated by scents of cherry, gooseberry combined with more gamey and spicy notes. A good tannic structure on the palate in its youth which evolves with age towards a very tasteful structure.

Olivier Leflaive was co-manager of Domaine Leflaive until 1994 before withdrawing to concentrate on his own venture which he started in 1985. Today the domaine produces wine from some 65 appellations with 85% of the production being white wine. One of Burgundy's most respected producers the estate produces a number of domaine wines from its own vineyards alongside its range of negoce bottlings. The wines are made by Franck Grux and the theme in their wines is elegance and finesse rather than power with restrained use of oak and great purity of fruit.

Pinot Noir is a red wine grape variety that is known for its delicate and nuanced character. The grape is relatively difficult to grow, but when it is grown in the right conditions, it produces some of the finest and most sought-after wines in the world. Pinot Noir wines are known for their complexity and a wide range of flavors and aromas, which are often described as being "red" or "dark" fruit flavors such as cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, as well as earthy, spicy, and floral notes.
Pinot Noir wines tend to be light- to medium-bodied with a delicate structure and a moderate level of tannins and acidity. The flavor profile of Pinot Noir wines can vary greatly depending on where it is grown, for example, Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France, tends to be elegant and nuanced, with a focus on red fruit and floral notes, while Pinot Noir from Oregon and California tends to be more full-bodied and have a higher proportion of dark fruit flavors.
Pinot Noir is a wine that pairs well with a wide range of foods, particularly poultry, duck, pork and mushroom-based dishes. Due to its delicate character, it's often recommended to serve it slightly chilled to enhance its fruit and floral aromas, and to avoid overpowering the wine with strong or spicy foods.
