Triennes
A winery with great pedigree, Triennes is a joint venture between Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and is located in the Var, to the East of Aix en Provence. Farmed organically since 2008, the aim of the estate is to produce wines that speak clearly of the bright sky and diverse terroirs of the region. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot, Grenache and Viognier provide the raw materials for their stunning range of wines from their pale, savoury rose through to the characterful rich reds for which Provence has become famous.

Merlot is a red wine grape variety that is widely grown in many regions around the world. It is known for producing wines that are smooth, easy to drink, with moderate acidity and have a relatively low tannin content. This makes them a good wine for those who may find red wines with high tannins to be too astringent.

The grape produces wine that is typically a deep ruby red color, with flavors of dark fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, as well as notes of plum, chocolate, and sometimes a hint of spice.

They are often aged in oak barrels to give them a smooth, round texture and subtle vanilla or toast flavors. Merlot pairs well with a wide range of foods, including red meats, poultry, and pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces.
