The Hilt wines

The Hilt Estate is the creative home of winemaker Matt Dees. With the help of his team, he produces California white, red and rosé wines. Because of the climate, facing the Pacific Ocean, viticulture is complicated. The estate's Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines struggle to survive. In these conditions, they offer few bunches and their fruit is small. But these small grapes, acidic and complex, also contain excellent aromas. A godsend for Matt Dees, who gives his all to give birth to his wines.
The vineyard covers three terroirs: Bentrock, Radian and Puerta del Mar. There are a variety of soils and microclimates, as well as different altitudes and wind exposures. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines produce quality fruit. They enable the creation of singular wines, reflecting the identity of each terroir. Matt Dees also blends fruit selections to create red and white wines with an original style.
