Seeing the potential of Puglia for quality wines, the pioneering Antinori family of Tuscany has owned Tormaresca since 1998 and today it consists of two separate estates. In Minervino Murge is Bocca di Lupe in the Castel del Monte DOC, 130 hectares of vines planted to Chardonnay, Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano Pugliese, Moscato di Trani and Nero di Trioa. The second estate is Masseria Maine located in the I.G.T. Salento, 85 hectares of olive trees and 250 hectares of vineyards planted with Negro Amaro, Primitivo, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. As with everything the Antinori family does, quality is everything and the range of white and red wines show finesse and concentration while staying true to their origins.

Negroamaro wines originate from the Puglia region in southern Italy, where the Negroamaro grape thrives in the warm Mediterranean climate and limestone-rich soils. Known for its deep color and robust character, Negroamaro is one of the most important indigenous grape varieties of southern Italy. Negroamaro wines are celebrated for their rich flavors, firm tannins, and versatility, making them popular choices for both everyday drinking and pairing with a variety of dishes.
Typically, Negroamaro wines exhibit a deep ruby color and offer complex aromas of dark berries, dried fruits, spices, and herbs, with hints of earth and tobacco. On the palate, these wines are characterized by their full-bodied texture, velvety tannins, and vibrant acidity, with flavors of black cherry, plum, blackberry, and licorice. Negroamaro's bold yet approachable profile allows it to pair well with a range of foods, from hearty meat dishes and pasta with rich tomato sauces to aged cheeses and grilled vegetables. Whether enjoyed on its own or as a complement to a flavorful meal, Negroamaro wines capture the essence of Puglia's winemaking tradition and the sun-drenched terroir of southern Italy.
